ROOF GRADING EXPLAINED In short circuit oval racing across the board in real life and all scales of model racing there is a handicap grading system for drivers. The more experienced drivers can start up to half a lap behind the beginners in order to make it more of a challenge. Below we have briefly explained each roof grade that will be used at lincs oval.
WHITE ROOF White graded drivers are those who are a complete novice to the 1/12th oval racing.They will start with a white grade and be at the front of the field. YELLOW ROOF. Yellow grade is someone who has made the first step out of the novice bracket.Although they are still learning,they are now well into the swing of the racing.and have to start behind the white grades BLUE ROOF Blue roof drivers have progressed here and are now someone to talk about there not far from reaching the top grades and some are as good as the higher graders they have to start behind the yellow grades. RED ROOF Red roof drivers who have got this far are definite championship contenders theses guys should be setting the example for the rest of the field and winning races they Start behind the blue grades SILVER ROOF Silver roof drivers well now we are talking big! The driver who has the privalige of painting his roof silver is the driver who beat the rest.And is probably one of the best drivers at his club.This is the driver who is points champion.This driver will start behind everybody apart from the gold roof champion,visiting silver roof drivers will start at the back of the red roof grades. GOLD ROOF Although we’ve spoken about some pretty sought after titles this one is by far the one that all drivers would like to have shining on their roof at one point.The gold roof may only be worn by the WORLD champion.The gold roof driver will start behind everyone right at the back of the field.there can be only one gold roof car.so please win it to wear it (no gold or silver on your roof)
All drivers must display there roof grade on there car with a minimum 20mm strip across the roof
Banger construction rules Body Shells Are to be any ABS shell with windows completely removed as close to original car as possible. One bodyshell per meeting however, can use a different one for DD. Only approved shells allowed see shell list Must have drivers number clearly visible.Roof grade must be displayed on car with min 20mm strip of colour Only one gold roof car can be raced which is the club world champion (or visiting champions) Names Drivers name or nickname must be visible on the sun visor above the front window. Bumpers These are not permitted. Strengthening and Repairs You may use glue sticks, tape, cable ties or plastic joining plates. The listed repair methods are allowed anywhere on the inside of the body shell only. Mascots ect. No external mascots or bolt on engines allowed. Final Preparation The external painting must be neatly finished, with no rude or offensive slogans or gestures. Chassis. These must be as per the V12 kit item with following limitations. If left to original V12 length the chassis must be used with a shell that is made to fit its size properly. Limo chassis must be max thickness of 3mm. Countersunk chassis/screws may be used. Any chassis manufactured with holes to take the V12 front suspension must use the V12 suspension. GRP may be used maximum 2mm thick Chassis Dimensions as follows Max length 270mm Max Width 90mm Limos Chassis can be any length but no wider than 90mm Body mounts You may use 2, 3 or 4 mounts. Not to be made of metal Not exceeding 10mm in width. Must not protrude more than 10mm through body shell Speed Controller. Mechanical and ESC. But Mechanical speedos must be used for national meetings Must have reverse fitted and cost no more than £65 maximum. Servo Saver. Any type permitted Ball Races. Only to be used on the back axle. Pinions and Spur Gears. 32dp gears only. Standard Mardave rear wheel/spur gear combinations to be used Solid rear axel only. No diffs or limited slip devices. Motors Mardave G2 motors only. Heatsinks can be fitted. Comm drops may not be used. Tyres Foam tyres only to be used.No tyre additives allowed. Batteries. Only 4 cell sub C nicad and nimh cells permitted. Max 5000 Mah. Free choice of battery pack fixing but must not be fitted lengthways on chassis. Transponders. Must not be mounted to the roof of the car.
4 Cell Saloon Stock Construction Rules All cars to be 1/12th scale and a reasonable representation of a full size saloon stock car, historic saloon stock car or 1300 stock car Maximum width of car to be 178mm Maximum length of car to be 395mm Minimum ground clearance of 3mm All running gear to be fitted to a one piece flat plate chassis Chassis can be Mardave V12,Mardave V12VRXSS,Skippy chassis or lincs oval design Only V12 rear suspension units to be used with allowed mods of alloy motor pods Front and rear bumpers must be fitted, but must not protrude beyond the outer edges of the wheels Bumpers must be made from a non metallic material and look like the real thing ABS body shells only must be a current saloon stock, 1300 stock or historic stock car All windows must be cut out Wheel wells must be cut out as per the full size car Drivers name, number and roof grade must be visible on the car with min of 20mm strip Roof fins can be fitted max height 2" Sub C 4.8 volt nimh/nicad battery packs only Mardave G2 motors only Solid rear axle only Foam tyres only Minimum 12mm and maximum 26mm width of front tyres Rear tyres minimum 12mm maximum 38mm Tyre diameter front and rear to be minimum 44mm and maximum 47mm Any type of speed controller may be used max price £65 but must have reverse Ball races allowed on rear axle and front stub axles Front strut braces can be used Motor heatsinks can be used Any battery pack fixing can be used but not mounted lengthways on the chassis 32DP pinions and spur/Delrin Gears only Transponders must not be mounted to the roof of the car No full TOP chassis to be used
OPEN WHEELED STOCKCAR CONSTRUCTION RULES All cars to be 1/12th scale and a reasonable representation of a full size Forumla2/Formula1/superstox Chassis to be either the Mardave f2 kit or the Mardave no flexi chassis with standard v12 rear suspension must be minimum thickness of 1.6mm and be GRP Must use Mardave top deck only Flexi chassis to have 9 top deck supports all must be fitted Non flexi chassis to have 11 deck supports all must be fitted Batteries to be fitted across the chassis in the standard postion Overriders must be fitted front and rear/Front bumper can be made deeper Alloy motor pods can be used and Alloy top deck uprights G2 Motors only and must be fitted so the pinion is on the right hand side of the car as you look from the front Any speedo can be used mechanical or electronic Max cost of £65 and must have reverse fitted and working Fixed gearing of 11/54 Plastic wings only Drivers name,number and roof grade to be displayed on the car Bearings can be used on the rear end but not on the front wheels Foam tyres only can be either mardave ufra or Schumacher foams
